Abstract

This legal opinion is provided to researchers as an annex to the proposed study on Amnesty programmes in the Niger Delta. Extract: “…researches need to take into consideration that they are dealing with human beings, some may be temperamental and there is need to exercise caution when dealing with them. Amnesty programme has had a great positive impact on conflict mitigation, peace building and National stability... (Amnesty for Peace in the Niger Delta), forgiving crimes of the past plays pivotal role in achieving lasting peace because only the living can be peace makers.”
