Youth Employment in Sub-Saharan Africa (YESSA) International Conference, Pullman Hotel, Dakar, Senegal, 28 – 30 January 2014
Abstract
Ten years after the Ouagadougou Plan of Action, evidence suggests that youth employment remains a challenge to most policy and stakeholders on the continent. The conference served as a prelude to the special session of the African Union’s Conference of Labor ministers (2014). This is a report of the discussions and exchange, as well as breakout sessions during that conference. Experts underscored the necessity of consultation on a regular basis between involved stakeholders in order to implement active and will-based policies for the promotion of youth employment and entrepreneurship, through dedicated public investment.
