Women-gov : making local governance work for women-exploring new institutional possibilities; a South-South action-research project

Abstract
Information & Communication Technologies have opened up possibilities for enhancing women's engagement with local governance processes and institutions, and strengthening their claims-making. Across three sites in the Global South, project partners are: Instituto Nupef in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil); IT for Change in Mysore (India); and the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town (South Africa). The project duration was two years (March 2012-March 2014). Progress and challenges are reported on.
