Abstract
To achieve its overarching goal of building capacity for
adaptation in Africa, the CCAA strategy weds participatory
research, capacity strengthening, and knowledge sharing. We
built this three-pronged approach recognizing that Africa has
a wealth of wisdom on how to respond to climate variability
and extremes. This knowledge, however, is fragmented by
distance, language, institutional, and other barriers, and may
be overwhelmed by the pace and severity of global warming.
