Abstract:
This poster delineates some indicators of the reach of Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA). For instance, 39 of 44 institutions leading CCAA projects are African; in 33 African countries, CCAA research partners have engaged a total of 157 policymaking bodies, from the local to national and regional levels. The premise of participatory action research is that useable knowledge derives from active participation in seeking and testing solutions. The CCAA strategy assumes that for Africans to benefit, the best approach is to ensure engagement in developing their own adaptation knowledge and taking ownership of the results.
