Abstract
The primary research problem is to what extent local crops (millets) can be leveraged to enhance food security through participatory research interventions, which may increase productivity and production cost‐ effectiveness, while building value addition for increasing incomes of farm families. Other overarching themes are re‐tooling interventions to make them women‐centric, reducing the drudgery in cultivation and post‐harvest processing, as well as rendering these interventions sustainable with required knowledge transfer, skill building and infrastructure assistance. All tedious long duration post harvest work is usually done by women, while more muscular and short duration works are done by men. This is a comprehensive project annex.
