Abstract
Sustainability and accountability are vital factors in providing the agriculture community with timely, updated and usable knowledge. These factors were taken into account in developing information portals such as the KenanaOnline project. However, in order to keep the system sustainable over time, users need be able to avoid the flood of available information, and access specific data to formulate timely decisions; while experts need to simplify their contributions for grassroots users, and gain economic benefits. This research identified a workable model for building efficient knowledge bases for diagnosing and solving problems in specific knowledge domains.
