Abstract
As an emerging research field, South-South Migration (SSM) is only beginning to be explored, and research on the broader phenomena is small. Taking into account that most research in SSM is an extension of former migration research (North-South), criteria that might constitute “the South” or where the South is, have not yet adequately emerged. This study stresses the opportunity to rethink the relation between inequality and migration, as well as concepts developed under assumptions of South-North Migration, using approaches based on agency and structure, that move towards more complex and nuanced interpretations. It includes a bibliography and annotated bibliography.
