Abstract
Directed at policy makers and stakeholders, the objective of this briefing note is to analyze the current health financing systems in francophone West African countries in terms of: 1. Describing current health financing systems in francophone West African countries 2. Highlighting potential future orientations and challenges 3. Deriving lessons from health financing in other settings that could assist reform, and 4. Pointing out knowledge gaps and future research paths. The briefing note includes historical context and literature review.
