Abstract:
Communication Policy Research (CPR) aims to create policy intellectuals in developing countries, able to undertake research that informs evidence-based policy. The presentation measures changes in developing country researcher citations and connectivity. Findings show that internet search engines can be used to assess research capacity in a given field. Presence, quality and connectivity of telecom researchers in Asia have improved with or without CPRsouth (China for example initiated a major drive to increase publications). A separate study is needed to identify key policy changes in selected countries in Asia including anecdotal evidence from CPR members related to contributions by CPRsouth.
