Abstract
Wetland resources play a vital role in contributing to food security in Uganda. This study followed three methods for quantifying the monetary values of wetland services and goods: the market price method, the productivity method, and the contingent valuation method. The study was conducted in eight wetland systems located in areas that represent three of the five agroecological zones of Uganda. In examining the economic value of the wetlands, this detailed paper determines that resource investment for wetlands conservation is economically justified in order to create incentives for continued benefits.
