Abstract
Eight sub-project investigations in Africa, as well as thirteen in MENA focused on a wide range of ICTs and involved a wide variety of different women users and developers, who faced very different challenges and opportunities. This Research Support Grant provided the resources needed to complete the finalization of the GRACE (Gender Research in Arab Countries into ICTs for Empowerment) manuscript for a second book. The chapters provide a detailed understanding of the tensions and relations between personal change and societal change, with a particular focus on women’s empowerment, agency and capacity.
