Abstract
Speakers at the meeting noted that compliance with laws on the fight against tobacco is inadequate, and the influence of the tobacco industry is a reality. It is difficult to assess the degree of enforcement of tobacco laws. Discussions included the issue of synergy between the Ministries of Public Health and the Ministries of Finance in the various countries. Updates on guidelines to tobacco and cigarette taxation are presented.
