Abstract

Concerning modes of governance, how is it that despite everything, "official governance" is in fact regulated; in real life actually is carried out; and in fact often actually "works." Some topics explored relate to: land management in Liberia; resource management models and their applications in Cameroon; farmer participation in forage production programmes in sub-Saharan Africa; experiences of Japan, Taiwan, and Korea investing in rural infrastructure and productivity, institutional structure and effectual government; and microenterprises in Central Mexico, among others.
