Epilogue
Abstract
The book epilogue draws on previous chapters in the volume “International development : ideas, experience and prospects” including as well, the proceedings of a meeting of development practitioners (2012) comparing development through 50 years. In an interconnected world, ideas and approaches must be relevant to poverty and distribution in both richer and poorer countries. The greater diversity of country and region-specific development circumstances seems to suggest that the era of overarching frameworks may be closing, while opportunities open for practicing development as “one experiment at a time.”
