State of development thought
Abstract
Consensus on what constitutes “development” and how to best pursue it may well be a thing of the past – and development practice may well improve as a result. Some initial insights are identified in this introductory chapter of “International development : ideas, experience and prospects,” from the volume’s examination of the interplay between ideas, ranging from specific issues such as poverty and inequality, and the experiences of particular countries and regions.
