Abstract

Believing that people from developing countries must take the lead in producing and applying knowledge for the benefit of their own communities, the IDRC builds local capacity to undertake research and create innovations. The Centre is guided by the principles of sustainable and equitable development, poverty reduction, and the promotion of human rights. This book provides details of IDRC’s background, principles, research capacity building, programming focus, and as well, reviews some major projects contributing to “research that matters.”
