Abstract

This is a review of key literature in the Indian Telecom Sector including dynamics behind policy changes brought by the Government (reduction in tax; licensing fees; and the enhancement of the extent of foreign investment permitted in the sector). It also argues with the contention that the Indian judiciary has been a “crucial actor” in enabling the Government’s pro-market telecom policy and an independent regulatory regime to take root.
