Abstract
The Centro Boliviano de Etudios Disciplinarios (CEBEM) overcomes challenges of geographically dispersed communities, language, affordability and internet access to facilitate a wide array of professional development courses throughout Latin America. CEBEM’s partnership with Canadian academics and graduate students also offers a promising practice of South-North cooperation and learning, as well as connecting academics with development practitioners. In expanding the program, the main challenges will be to have Spanish-speaking graduate students for work in LAC, and matching the research interests of graduate students in the global North with the professional development needs of communities in the global South.
