Abstract
A multivariate analysis shows the associations between dimensions of poverty and ICT access, revealing the importance of human and financial capital. This paper suggests a way in which multidimensional poverty factors can be analyzed within the developmental implications of information and communication technologies. The data is derived from a three-year research project “Poverty, ICTs in Urban and Rural East Africa” (PICTURE-Africa), which investigates the nexus between different dimensions of poverty and ICT usage in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda.
