Abstract
The discussions and interactions between Meghalaya State Police (MSP) leadership and North East Network (NEN) on problems faced by women when dealing with the police paved the way for an action-oriented research. After some initial bottlenecks and delays from decision makers in the police department, NEN experienced better communication with the police personnel directly involved in the project. Some of the police trainers would regularly visit northeast network NEN for guidance and inputs in relation to the Gender Sensitization Training program facilitated by NEN. The police training manual was incorporated into the training syllabus for the first batch of police they trained.
