Abstract
The particular focus of this report is on e-waste and climate change. In India, the boom in ICT roll-out has created a new, dangerous and toxic waste stream, and concern has been expressed over the improper disposal of electronic equipment. Inter-departmental co-ordination is missing among key ministries and agencies towards energy efficiency, procurement of products, and the re-use and recycling of used products. The paper provides a detailed report on the impact of ICT production, usage and regulation, including effects on environmental degradation.
