Abstract
This study focuses on identifying the uses of ICTs as proposed in public policies for monitoring, strategy, adaptation and mitigation actions related to climate change in Mexico. Some aspects regarding e-waste are also touched on. The paper provides detailed information on the state of ICT usage, regulation and climate change adaptive capacity. It approaches the question of ICTs and environmental sustainability from the perspective of the population’s well-being, along with environmental sustainability. The fact that scientific and technological development is seriously limited by budgetary restrictions and little private investment, often means that imported technologies are the only option.
