Abstract

Science and technology innovation platforms play an important role in national innovation system in China. In this article, we analyze two typical platforms which one is Zhejiang automobile and automobile parts industry innovation service platform, the other is Zhejiang modern textile technology and equipment innovation service platform. Using two-case studies, we found that the innovation intermediaries played four main roles in regional innovation system. 1) developing common technology; 2) providing technological innovation consulting; 3) accumulating innovation resources; 4) inducing knowledge structure of regional industry. Base on such roles, intermediaries can meet micro small and middle enterprises’ (MSMEs) different demands and support them to develop their innovative abilities sustainably.
