Report on baseline reconnaissance survey in Transmara district
Abstract
Information from this survey guides the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) project “Agricultural productivity and climate change in arid and semi arid Kenya project.” The report provides baseline information on demographics, agricultural land use activities, natural resource management, and infrastructural conditions in Trans-mara district. It recommends that the project consider activities to support climate-resilient water management and agricultural practices. Other concerns are soil fertility and conservation, deforestation, and improved land management strategies.
