Case study : Developing evaluation capacity (DECI); building an organization’s capacity to conduct use focused evaluations using a mentoring approach - LIRNEasia’s CPRsouth Program
Abstract
Utilization-focused Evaluation (UFE) was used in this case as a “self-evaluation” for the organization itself, helping to provide feedback on needs and capacities of the organization’s operations. UFE begins with the premise that evaluations should be judged by their utility, with attention to how people in the real world apply and use evaluations. This case study provided researchers and evaluators with mentoring in UFE through a team of regional evaluation consultants. UFE keeps in mind intended use for intended users via 12 steps, which are outlined in this case study at the Communications Policy Research South (CPRsouth) Program conference.
