Abstract
LEPnet collaborative cyber platform enables members to collaborate on research, share information, and reduce duplication of work. This pilot project addressed the insufficient emphasis on women’s realities in discourses on poverty reduction, particularly in the context of the legal empowerment of the poor (LEP), and on sharing knowledge about women’s economic rights. Collaborative technologies facilitated voice, video, and web-conferencing towards more efficient and effective collaboration within LEPnet, allowing members to meet and share information. Through LEPnet, IDRC researchers could share their research and collaborate with local partner organizations and independent researchers working in the global South.
