Abstract
Although efforts exist in the region to support capacity building in diagnostic services for plant health, there are few efforts to ensure that knowledge is shared between the entire range of stakeholders involved in plant health compliance, from the farmer, market trader and processor, through to national plant protection organizations, universities and national research organizations. This project proposes the establishment of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-wide Network that will provide plant health and safety services to participating countries, including compliance issues such as pre-harvest, diagnosis, and mitigation measures. Presentations, case studies and meeting discussions are reported on.
