Abstract
The project used an experimental process to test and improve capacity development and to develop a toolkit of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tools and approaches, making four recommendations to improve the design and implementation of M&E frameworks, methods and tools that integrate climate change and gender in their processes. A toolkit, training manual and methodological guide, were developed under the project. Country specific case studies were implemented for Mali, Kenya, Senegal, Niger, Burkina Faso and Ghana. There is a proven need for a robust assessment framework to track the expected vs. actual returns of climate change adaptation investments.
