Abstract
The results of this study illustrate that through the provision of both public and private irrigation, agricultural productivity has significantly improved with the expansion of dry rice season farmland and a large increase of rice yield, which contribute to the reduction of household poverty in the study area. Both the public Farmer Water User Community (FWUC) and the private sector in irrigation system management are vital mechanisms in agricultural production enhancement and poverty reduction in Cambodia. The study provides detailed information on water management and agricultural production. Recommendations cover both public and private sectors.
