Abstract
The Conference was attended by 487 participants from 9 countries: Cambodia, China, France, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar, New Zealand, Thailand, and Vietnam. Twenty-two talks were presented, from four parallel sessions on primary health care, human resources for health, health financing, and non-communicable diseases. Reproductive health was noted as being at the heart of public health and is indicated relative to maternal mortality rates (MMR). The meeting also highlighted malnutrition and non-communicable disease (NCD) issues.
