Abstract

MECCA newsletter no. 6 discusses developing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) frameworks that support national development policies and programmes, and that can function in a wide range of contexts. For instance, the framework of UNDP’s Adaptation Programme defines adaptation both in strategic and practical terms that are consistent with the agency’s human development mandate and operational emphasis on capacity development. A profile of CARE International is provided in this issue, as well as the Adaptation Learning Programme (ALP) for Africa.

Description

MECCA Africa is the official newsletter of the project ‘An Experimental Approach to Capacity and Toolkit Development for monitoring and Evaluation within Climate Change Adaptation Initiatives’, which is supported by the Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA) programme, a joint initiative of Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID).
