Abstract
This report provides an overview of the performance of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in Malaysia. There are widespread misconceptions with regards to terms, concepts, definitions, scope and coverage of ICT data between the public and private sector. Hence, this report aims to organize existing statistics in a structured manner to systematically paint a profile of the ICT sector as per internationally-agreed upon definitions, while discussing alternative approaches as needed. The Malaysian Department of Official Statistics (DOSM) provided crucial and detailed ICT data needed for the statistical compilation.
