Abstract
African Copyright and Access to Knowledge Network (ACA2K) research findings focus on three broad limitation and exception (L&E) areas currently prominent on the agenda of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR): distance learning, visually-impaired persons and library and archives. This paper summarizes these areas in context of different regions and countries in Africa. The SCCR is a specialised committee within the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In terms of reform of copyright law, it is clear that ACA2K study countries can do more to provide a set of copyright limitations and exceptions catering to the L&E agenda.
