Abstract
The presentation examines whether the effectiveness of Acacia-supported research networks can be evaluated through outcomes. There are limitations to using outcomes to assess a network’s contribution to certain objectives. Acacia projects work towards the expansion of connectivity in Africa. Beyond accountability to funders, the main value in identifying outcomes (internal or external) is the ability to gauge performance. Another mode of representation shows a detailed graph of outcomes: “Outcomes of research networks (2006-2009) (x-axis), Acacia objectives (y-axis).”
