Abstract
The starting point for the project was a vision for a copyright environment in Africa, that maximises access to knowledge contained in learning resources and materials. The project successfully built a network of African researchers working on copyright matters, and developing methodological best practices, while increasing the amount of published scholarship addressing this topic and raising awareness of the interface between copyright and access to knowledge in the eight study countries: Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda. The project empowered a network of African researchers to assess the impact of copyright laws in their countries.
