Abstract

Strengthening Indigenous peoples’ and women’s rights would help begin to redress the imbalances of power and colonial power. This presentation provides perspective on land grabbing through the lens of multiple causes and forces rooted in historical, geopolitical and patriarchal relations of power. It reviews dominant discourses such as neo-liberalism and reductionism that neglect the socio-cultural, political, historical, and spiritual values of land.
