Abstract
Land Access Movement of South Africa (LAMOSA) is an organisation advocating for land and agrarian rights, and democratization of the process. The presentation reviews a project in which 10 women mapped a village of 500 households, including physical housing. Positive results were effected in terms of housing improvement, food gardens, and women’s participation at the local level. The community mapping provided information and research capacity building with regard to climate change, land, and housing issues. Dialogue with the local municipality included issues of scaling up relief funds for small-scale farmers from natural disasters, securing alternative land, and provision of free seeds.
