Abstract

The presentation largely takes the form of inquiry, posing necessary questions that can direct ongoing research and change. It provides an overview of land administration laws and practices and their impacts on women and food security. How land is used is determined by distribution, tenure, administration and adjudication. There are gender dimensions to all of these that ultimately determine food security. Land administration differs depending on historical experience. How can current and past land problems under multiple tenure regimes be resolved?
