Abstract:
In order to build its capacity to conduct research and collect data, the National Union of Women with Disabilities of Uganda (NUWODU) formed a partnership with the Canadian Centre on Disability Studies (CCDS). In 2011 six women with disabilities in Uganda were trained as researchers. After being taught interviewing techniques and basic qualitative analysis, each woman went into the field and interviewed ten participants about their experiences living with a disability. The Project Teams in both countries analyzed the data. This report covers project activities, outputs and outcomes as well as recommendations.
