Abstract
Poverty has been an endemic problem in Bangladesh throughout the country’s
33-year history, and remains so despite an encouraging annual economic growth rate
of more than 5% in recent years. Now researchers and policymakers are collaborating
to better understand the root causes of this stubborn economic malaise and design
practical solutions.
