Abstract

This report monitors progress made in addressing unfair and avoidable inequalities in health, such as access to resources for health within the health sector and in relation to the social determinants of health (employment, income, housing, water and sanitation, nutrition and food security). Monitoring has been done for indicators relevant to major health burdens, for policy commitments at global, regional and national level, and for measures having positive impact on improving health equity. The Equity Watch tracks a health system’s progress and responsiveness in promoting and achieving equity in health and health care.
