Abstract
The aim is to perform advocacy for policy makers to develop a non-smoking area in public places to protect children from second hand smoke. Data on ETS exposure among children in playing grounds was measured using questionnaires and nicotine tests. The data were collected from 5 playgrounds and the community. Collaboration for advocacy was attempted with the Center of Public Policy (CPP), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, which has been conducting research on tobacco policy. Unfortunately, they are supported by the tobacco Industry and had a different perspective about tobacco control. The report tracks activities of the project.
