The review ends with an examination of logic models, outlining the need for an alternative approach to represent open systems. Relating to outputs, outcomes, and impact, generally, the literature correlates the terms with immediate, short-term, and long-term results of a program or project. Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) has become the standard framework in the management and evaluation of international development programs. The thesis provides a detailed study of the theory and applications of temporal logic, including systems theory.Item Bibliography for program logic models/logframe analysis(Evaluation Unit, IDRC, 2001) Heyer, Molly denResources that analyze program logic models as a set of tools are hard to find. The bibliographic resources compiled here focus on the logic model`s various uses; the significance of a variety of forms and structures; strengths and weakness; theoretical implications both in terms of the practice of international development and the field of monitoring and evaluation in general. Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) has become the standard framework in the management and evaluation of international development programs.Item Attribution and aid evaluation in international development : a literature review(2003) Iverson, AlexItem Preparing program objectives(Evaluation Unit, IDRC, Ottawa, ON, CA, 2004) IDRC. Weber and Martin Mujica (consultants), Ottawa, ON, CA, 2001) Weber, Edward J.; Mujica, MartinThis evaluation study makes an important link between the successes of IDRC projects and their understanding of the environment within which the research is contextualized. Further, it highlights the importance of external factors to the success of research for development. In some cases where IDRC could not continue the work, local NGOs have come forward to take up the responsibilities in an ongoing basis. From its inception, IDRC has sought to support research that can be applied to increase productivity in traditional, highly complex, and culturally integrated production systems that have evolved in the context of mountain environments.Item Learning partnerships : a review of IDRC secretariats - volume 1(Evaluation Unit, IDRC, Ottawa, ON, CA, 1998) Armstrong, Jim; Whyte, AnneItem Outcomes and the factors which influence their realization : a synthesis of forty-two completed project case (cases)(IDRC, Ottawa, ON, CA, 2000) Earl, S.The case-studies indicate that IDRC-supported research projects can, and do, make a difference. This report provides a synthesis of findings of forty-two case-studies, covering IDRC supported projects in twenty countries. It identifies factors that have influenced the achievement of results, contributes to further understanding of realistic outcomes in funding development research, and captures lessons learned regarding assessment of results. "The Survey and Assessment of Completed Projects" comprised the development of a conceptual framework to assess the results of development research, and a series of studies about the results of projects in several programming areas.Item Temporal logic model (tm) : a concept paper(IDRC, Evaluation Unit, Ottawa, ON, CA, 2001) IDRC; Heyer, M. denItem Enhancing the use of evaluation findings in organizations : results of a survey(IDRC, Ottawa, ON, CA, 1996) IDRC.
