Abstract

These global health research case studies provide examples of collaborative developments which highlight “critical success factors” for multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary global health research. All of the case studies represented in this publication show that research questions must address health issues critical to the communities involved. An unanticipated side-benefit of the relationships established through these collaborations is that in times of disaster, there is commitment and knowledge within the community that can spring into action.
