Abstract
The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) expanded its scope to include the existing and potential impacts of China and India on Sub-Saharan Africa, while also scaling up the number of locally-based researchers conducting economic policy relevant research. The research was carried out through country case studies in each of the sectors of primary impact: oil and gas; solid minerals; agriculture and forestry; and manufacturing sectors. These studies further inform African strategies for relations with China so as to maximize economic opportunities and minimize the inevitable challenges. Project activities, research, outputs and outcomes are enumerated and reviewed.
