Abstract
The workshop discussions contributed to greater understanding of conflict trends and dynamics in the region, and highlighted the different approaches to conflict management found in India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Existing research was reviewed and gaps in the literature were identified. As well, the challenges in undertaking research in these countries was discussed. Emphasis was also placed on encouraging a gender sensitive approach to research processes. Given men’s domination of war and peacemaking, exploring women’s under-recognised and underutilised contributions to peace is critical. The report provides a summary of activities, discussions, outputs and outcomes.
