Abstract
This Urban Housing Sector Profile Study provides analysis of the housing sector in Malawi. The country has applied the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) methodology for this study. By clearly identifying the issues and suggesting solutions arrived at through a national consultative process, the study is useful towards the formulation of appropriate policy responses. This book includes sections on the policy and legal frameworks related to housing; key players in housing both public and private; housing needs and housing finance; the construction industry; housing markets; and policy implications.
