Abstract
The project implemented socio economic impact analyses of Avian Influenza (AI) outbreaks, and AI control measures on small farmers and backyard poultry producers within a framework of control strategies and policies. It identifies how small farmers and backyard poultry producers respond to issues related to their farms and marketing practices amid an outbreak and as well, how they respond to various government AI control measures. The project also tracked the vulnerability of these sectors and the larger poultry business community.
