Abstract
The survey collected the initial baseline data to be used to assess change and progress over time in Bhutan’s educational system. Bhutan’s schools are implementing innovations in education through the “Educating for Gross National Happiness (GNH)” project. In the survey principals expressed that after infrastructure issues, teacher shortage was their biggest challenge. This report provides a window into Bhutan’s schools and schooling practices. The survey analysis can be used for policy and planning purposes in implementing the Educating for GNH initiative.
